Preamble

My first few postings will be a brief history of my motorcycles I have owned through the years and their highlights, starting from 1966 to 2014... 48 years of riding

My blog is design for:
1.) to make a book (photo album) of my motorcycle adventures. I will have this blog printed off into a coffee table top hard covered book.
2.) for the public to view and promote motorcycle riding through-out the beautiful country sides of British Columbia, Canada.

What is my appeal for riding a motorcycle?

... the freedom it provides; not boxed into a vehicle, more aware of your surroundings.

... to experience the "smell"... of a clover-field, hay-fields, freshly cut grass, of wet pavement just after a hot day, farmers fields, and more

... the sounds of life around you.

... to ride with friends experiencing the same problems, excitement, belonging to a group

Yes, motorcycles are dangerous... just two wheels on the pavement, other vehicles do not see you and have no respect for you, always exposed to the weather and road conditions, bugs on your teeth, sore butts, sore throttle hand, sore back, but it is all worth it... we are alive and doing what we like to do... ride............

April 22, 2015 - first ride with my brother

Today was my first ride with my brother... he has the Honda Goldwing. His bike has not been on the road for over three years now... so needless to say, he had to do a lot of repairs, i.e. clutch and brake lines gummed up, brake shoes jammed, oil change, lighting , etc.

We both met up at Mum's place (where else eh), then left for a nice back road ride behind Maple Ridge and Mission.

The ride was perfect... not much traffic, nice weather and the bikes ran great!

  We stopped for lunch at the Sasquatch Inn... nice biker pub!


 The weather started to turn bad... winds picking up and rain in the background.
Time to head for Will's place

I drove home the following day, stopped at Mum's... nice ride... cloudy, but no rain!

April 15 2015 - On the road again

Got my motorcycle insurance today - 6 month insurance ($637.00)

Took my first ride to Porteau Cove, less than one hour drive from home.


The next day, drove to my brother's place for a day drive. On the way over, I picked up some oil and oil filter, so I do an oil change at my brother's garage. In addition, I always stop at Mum's place for coffee on my drive. :)
I drove all the way home that evening... 1 1/2 hour on the freeway doing 120 km all the way. Needless to say I was bagged by the time I got home!
