Preamble

My first few postings will be a brief history of my motorcycles I have owned through the years and their highlights, starting from 1966 to 2014... 48 years of riding

My blog is design for:
1.) to make a book (photo album) of my motorcycle adventures. I will have this blog printed off into a coffee table top hard covered book.
2.) for the public to view and promote motorcycle riding through-out the beautiful country sides of British Columbia, Canada.

What is my appeal for riding a motorcycle?

... the freedom it provides; not boxed into a vehicle, more aware of your surroundings.

... to experience the "smell"... of a clover-field, hay-fields, freshly cut grass, of wet pavement just after a hot day, farmers fields, and more

... the sounds of life around you.

... to ride with friends experiencing the same problems, excitement, belonging to a group

Yes, motorcycles are dangerous... just two wheels on the pavement, other vehicles do not see you and have no respect for you, always exposed to the weather and road conditions, bugs on your teeth, sore butts, sore throttle hand, sore back, but it is all worth it... we are alive and doing what we like to do... ride............

Oct 10, 2007 - Trip back to British Columbia

I decide to take the FJR back to B.C. for the winter, placing it in storage for the winter in my brother garage.

All packed up ready to back to Vancouver, B.C.

It was a great ride... sunny, but cool and cold through the Rockies

what can you say, eh! perfect eh!

Hotel room... too cold to go camping!
I drove about 600 km now... a bit sore do you think?

My next stop... Kelowna , in the middle of BC... to pick up my new girlfriend from Vancouver. She flew so she could get her first long motorcycle ride back to Vancouver. Since this will be her first long bike ride, it is going to be an experience to say the least for her!

Looks very cold... now near Summerland, B.C.

Keremos B.C.
Caroline, now was becoming a seasoned bike rider, the start of the 450km trip

Needless to say, it rained and rained

We stayed at Manning Park lodge, great place... food was just OK.

The next day, the sun came back. Caroline ready for another day ride.

Just leaving Manning Park, only 3 hours till Vancouver

Stopped off at the Sasquatch Inn, a biker bar/pub/restaurant, located between Harrison Hot Springs and Mission.

We arrived in Vancouver later that day... Caroline is now a seasoned biker chick. :)
